Time is like silky sand. No matter how much you will try to hold on still it will slip out and time will never return to you. What will happen if you were to look back on your life and think that had I aimed for something better in my life I would have definitely got something better from life, don’t let yourself go in the state where you may end up thinking on these lines.

Be the change, make it part of your life and you will see the gift life is. If you don’t aim high in your life you may end up thinking that you could have done better but didn’t, you could have been in better helm of affairs but aren’t! Now is the time aim and dream, let yourself fly and be perseverant to change dreams to reality. Don’t let this kind of situation arise in front of you in the grey path of your life.

Just as your ego stops you from acting now, just as your fears stop you from acting now you will find an excuse later also. If you continue on these lines you will never feel the excitement of achievement because you would justify all your failures in life to one or the other reasons. Don’t make this an intricate habit. Change it for the better of your own life.

Start by setting simple and realistic goals. Then work hard, toil sweat for them and you will reap rich dividends. Anything done from your heart will always be successful. Success may not be what you think as in monetary terms but you will always gain something for trying, never quit, this world is your stage, either you can play a minor part or take things in your hand and direct these plays as you want to.

The satisfaction of achievement is infectious and you will make it a habit of yours. The first step is the toughest of all and after you know which path to tread on, life becomes easier with time.

Lee Iacocca, the legendary American businessman once said that you have to know what is most important and then give it everything that you have got. In simple terms this means that set your priority straight. Know your priority and then act accordingly in an apt manner befitting the situation at hand.

Why Women Are More Religious Than Men

Many scientific and general studies have shed light on the fact that women tend to be much more religious than men. This wide held belief has now found some scientific grounding for itself. There are many reasons that are touted as justifications for women being more religious than men.

There exists no scientific proof for either of these but nonetheless they are derived from logical thinking to back themselves up. Women as a matter of fact tend to be much more considerate for the future as compared to men. You may call it fear or apprehension but it’s a fact that men are short sighted by nature and tend to focus on things at hand.

Given these state of affairs it’s quite likely that women find some kind of solace by attachment to God. It may act as a soothing factor in their lives just to assuage their concern for the future.

Another reason that has logical derivation is that women often in past had more time at their expense as compared to men. Women had ample time and thus were able to dedicate more time in service of the lord while men used to go for their jobs.

Given that women were alone and had to bide time by themselves it’s highly likely that they found a supporter in God who would stay with them through thick and thin. The pedagogy of children during their hay days involves a lot of religious teachings. This teaching is accorded by women to their children more often than not. Thus women are more so in touch with religion then men are.

This has been going on in our society since ages and things are much the same. Given these facts, this reason highlights that women are much more religious stands on firm ground. It’s a pity to state so but it can’t be denied that in our society women tend to be much more servile in spirit than most men. The state though being arguable provides helpful insight into the reason for women’s faith. Having a tendency to be much more subservient, women naturally feel inclined to say prayers and believe in faith.
Some behavior pattern difference between men and women may arise due to certain biological traits too. Though this fact has never been substantiated by any competent authority it may have considerable influence in the whole issue.

Understanding Self Improvement and its Meaning

Self Improvement - A cliché word! Isn’t it? A simple search of these two words can lead anyone through an unending maze of sorts. So many options on the internet, e-books or for that matter even hard copies are fecund in the market as of now. Each one of these promising that reading some text can actually lead to self improvement. Is it true? Are any of these media actually worth a try?

Well the answer to these questions is actually a bit of ruckus in itself. One thing that is not is the fact that reading these books or attending seminars of some eminent personalities (with all due respect to each of them) can actually contribute to little or no ‘self’ improvement. For anyone involved in the basic process of self learning, one thing to remember is that it’s much more important to actually imbibe what is being taught in these books.

Reading part is what everyone does, thinks that he has been enlightened and become a Buddha but the euphoria looses its sheen somewhere in the hum-drums of daily life. The short burst fails to carry on and in most cases even the short burst is missing.

The most important thing to keep abreast with is that self improvement is not an easy job. Especially with years of off beam routine per se it becomes even harder. Reading or knowing about how to improve is just the onset, not the end. This is actually where people tend to go wrong. Knowing which path to tread on is important but how one goes about doing it, is what is most important. More so in case of self improvement!

Self improvement is thus an unending process, it’s like a journey which when set upon can only be revered and lived on but it has no destination. It’s a start with loose ends, a path of bliss and a gelling of reality and mirages. The inception is never easy and changes at micro level of personality take time to happen. The learning’s of gurus and mentors through books and other media are just the tip of the iceberg. The real test starts in actual sense after that.

Self improvement can be described as you vs. yourself. It’s an unending battle with self which has humongous implications. Self improvement can actually lead to a rise in self esteem and lots of confidence. It tough but then who got alms in life for doing easy things.

Ending this, I’ll like to ask you what self improvement steps are you going to take today?

Status of Mauritius Blogging Community

Since the last three to four years, the number of Mauritian blogs has increased. I precise the number of blogs, not bloggers. It is true that many of you are thinking of Mauritius blog listing system which look more like a cemetery with dying blogs. Having a number of non updated blogs does not make an active blogging community.

A blogging community is about a group of people sharing the same passion and active on blogs in terms of posting articles. There are a number of people who at one time or another created their own blog but end as commentators on other blogs or died as bloggers. I am not going into the details of why a blogger died.

Many will be thinking that the Mauritius blogging community is active because there were bloggers meeting in the past.

Were all of them active bloggers?

What is the aim of a blogger meeting?

The aim is to share ideas, to share blogging tips and to ponder upon the future of the group of people united by the passion of blogging. Bloggers meeting was a good initiative but a passive one. There was nothing concrete as such.

Does the Mauritian blogging community really exist?

A concrete blogging community is one with a solid foundation. That is a registered society with a list of official members. This is what I call concrete. It is the only way for bloggers to have an official community and identity as well.

Onwards it can give rise to concrete meetings like small focus group for the beginning, raise issue about protection of bloggers etc.

There have been a number of clashes between journalist bloggers and bloggers in the near past. However, the journalists have solid foundation and grounds when they gave arguments because they has a solid institution which they form part of, the press. Concerning blogging, we have no real identity, therefore no foundation to shout that bloggers are like this or that.

The actual status of the Mauritius blogging community is that it does not exist officially. Bloggers shouting that we are here and present is not sufficient.

2010 Astrology For Mauritius

Let us go for another round of hypocrisy. What about the impact of alignment of planets? Of course the end of the world. I am talking about astrology and planets, in short about predictions made by astrologers. OK we say that what the hell is the guy talking about?

Astrology things, horoscopes… however, who can deny that they never read the forecast made in newspapers according to their respective horoscopes? It is always nice to read about good things that may happen in your life… Who is not happy to read that this year you may be lucky to get 15 million rupees lottery?

Just go outside and ask people if they believe on the forecast made in newspapers or books about astrology… many will say ” ayo ca ban dimounn couyon ki croire la dans “. This is the point I wanted to talk about, astrology is a science many people may not believe in it, though they have no right to say that it is ridiculous. Great people are those who respect outsiders belief without any resentment or superior feeling.

Of course there are some people who believe blindly in astrology, so their problem and it is their choice to. However, it is always nice pu boufonne dimoune, Mauritian culture.
