For me, despite my leaving early, I would say it was 100% success with the minimum resources and time we had to prepare.
Bane derapages c surtout akoz bane tetes brulées ki pna maturité ek sense de responsabilité!
Someone once rightly mentioned to me :”Intelligent dwarfs cause gigantic problems!”
Anyways…i just hope that students will now be able to choose the future SU members based on the candidates’ maturity, competence and “sense de responsabilité”.

Too much noise n bad comments frm the back, one among them should have been sent out, namely baldeo (heard sme1 calling him by zis name)…The debate wsnt ‘professional’..Some UOM students ‘ine fer vilain’…zot pa ‘mature’ ditu!! Lack of discipline n respect..
Fun was being made by supporters of parties to the other parties
The 1st group didnt answer all the questions like for e.g how their campaign ws being financed n all…
‘zaera’ was too much ‘enflamE’
Actually i thought that the audience will b able to question the candidates on spot…i didnt knw that they knew the questions beforehand, meaning that they were already prepared for the answers..
Liked the way yusha said that here are the people who organised this debate, whoever wants to say smething abt the way it ws organised can say it to them directly… ?
Also liked the way Spartacus didn’t wanted to read the questions wen they made comments abt the organisation of the debate… ?
Bref…for a 1st time, it ws nice…but I wouldn’t say it ws a successful one since it ws more a means for them to do their campaign rather than a debate…

I dont kno if u r pro a particular party but the reaction of miss zaera can be justified. She was just being fair to everybody…if being fair and just need to be “enflame” as u mentioned then fine …i think most people who still have a sense of fairness will agree with me …

agree with you yupri… but there are situation when you know @ 100% that someone is being unfair to another …you tend not to keep quiet… am not pro any candidate or party but that woz i noticed ..koz some irrespectful person were behind me in the audience and unfortunately your two presidents seemed to be unconcerned by that… wot the hell were they doing ova der??? the presidents were neutral … they did their best to maintain status quo … + the presidents did not had security guards responsibility .. before they accuse anyone and remove them they should be sure it is the right person … that was the most difficult job …

My president was invited as President of the Political society ….
From whic political party he belong to has no link to the debate .. he was invited by me .. and he accepted the invitation .
Now if we have narrow minded people who attended the debate and judging with bias view .. unfortunately i pity them …
The aim of the debate was to give a platform to every candidate … not to gossip or backbite about who belong to which party .

It great time some people become mature
Yea agree…infact our invited president didnt came as he got some personal change of plans so we placed these two friend as president ther. Personally i think they tried their best to control the situation but you know its not easy to control everyone tongues!
ALL CANDIDATES THERE had read and ACCEPTED the rules and regulations before attending the debate! I even talked to some of them to tell them if even in the case some fucking sh*ts are talking nonsense at the back jst avoid them!! The security were told to exclude anyone talking nonsense at their own will!! However i saw that they didnt do much. You imaging its not that easy to control everyone with just 1 security man at start and our presiding officers attempted to silence them but in vain!
However I expected these types of “connerie”!! Concerning zairah… she talked very well wai great! However the scene where she interupt the debate and grab the mic and starting a mess is VERY UGLY and SHAME for her party! I saw her Team leader trying to prevent her from gettign hyper like that…however she was too excited i guess!! She and all candidates agreed to the rules that they will talk only when they are asked to talk!
She could have noted her points and talk about the “injustice” when she would have had her 2nd round!! Isn’t it??
Concerning organisation…i wanna make this clear…we were only a team of ONLY 5 mates who organised that with NO FINANCE…NO SPONSOR…NO SUPPORT from any party…and we had only 6 days to organise this and we did that as a challenge…!! To organise an event..and also a debate without any fight! Sure… it was not 100% perfect! But I can feel that it was atleast 90% perfect!!
This was our very first organised event… just wanted to do smthing before leaving uni!! And also it was a personal challenge…I’ll talk more on that on my blog.
I wanted to add that all team leaders were responsible of their candidates acts .All of the leaders accepted that responsibility well before.
Zaera could have asked a special permission from organising team to view out her views on injustice .

The organizing team reserved all rights to nominate the Presiding officers.

The presiding officer worked on the organisin team orders … they followed our instructions before takin any decision to talk or anything we gave them green light …

I would just like to inform the Rights Party that the door that they are willing to change is a government property and according to the services section of the university, such insfracstructural changes cannot be done.
Concerning the cafeteria, i would also like to inform students that a 2nd mini cafeteria is to be implemented and is on a project base arguement. i have documentary evidence for what i am advancing and i would also like to point out that concerning hygiene, it should be dealt with the Cafeteria Advisory Committee and not the Ministry of health as Miss Bea said in the debate.
Concerning CITS, Mr. Basant Lallah, should get updated with Mr. Hulkoree, officer in charge of the CITS,so as to be aware of the new developments that are going to happen soon. CITS has informed SU that 60 new pcs for FOE and 30 new pcs for FOS.. heavy duty printers have also been purchased.

Just wanna add smthing!! I dnt know the guy personally…however i know he is the president of the political society as from what i heard from some helping friends.
INITIALLY we had invited Mt Mathur…Who is a Professor to attend this debate!! There was only one guest presdient. Yesterday we confirm with our guest president about his presence! Today mornign we got a call and stating Mr Mathur will not be able to attend!! Early morning… no one was there!! Only me and yupri… and i never learned to lose buddy…so i had to do the debate!!
We asked 4 lecturers!! None were available!! Finally i saw the guy passing by…and we decided to ask him!! Whether he support power or not..that we dnt know… we dnt even care whether he is power or whatever… (sincerely its only at the debate i heard people saying he is for power) – But still if you are “someone who attend the debate” you must have seen he gave equal respect to all parties.!! A certain person decided to make some noise at the back and the prsiding did make a request for silence!! However if we have shameless damn brats at the debates..you didnt expect the presiding officer to go and grab the group and ask them out… amoin si to lai nu ti met bouncers there WLOL

@Avish and Yusha and the organizing team–>good work. for the first time and on top of that, to organize the debate in less than 1 week, preparing letters, rules, looking for venue, time, day, and so on.It was a good job.
The only small drawback that we had is the small incident of the speaker of welfare.Perhaps she is unaware that 75% of the debate was actually being record and its sad to find that incident on the clip.{which is actually viewable to everyone}.It has been viewed by abroad students and they find it very “sad” to see such a thing happening at a university level.
@Vashish—>I really appreciated the way you talked and by coming in front of the audience to express yourself, you actually won some students{I have been receiving feedback concerning that}.
The Presiding speaker came there as the President of Political Science Society and not as an agent or whatever of groups.
It is so easy to blame people.
Changing the door with the approval of the relevant authorities does not amount to criminal damage.

U r saying that Students Rights will be damaging government property. Were u there for the debate? If yes, I guess u must have heard that Student Power WILL (if elected) go against govt –> in the sense that they will try to extend the free travel by bus for the holidays…According to the laws, students are entitled to free bus transport during school/college/uni days and hours. If those people make any change for uni students, even colleges will ask for such changes, and if granted such a change, this will affect the economy of Mauritius, and bane pauvres petits mauriciens pu paye extra buku tax.

I’m also doing some research concerning some basic rights of blogs and their authors.

This shows how mature and responsible are UOM students.
